The Fly

This painting debuted in Robert McFate’s first gallery exhibition at of Thunder-Sky, Inc., Gallery inspired by William Blake’s poem “The Fly.” Created with acrylic paint on an antique mirror, the work explores themes of reflection, fragility, and shared existence.

A humble glass of orange drink and a small fly become a quiet meditation on life and perspective, while the aged mirror subtly reflects the viewer, drawing them into the piece. The antique surface and frame honor the past, adding depth and history to the work.
